SINCE 2010, i have influenced the visual culture of my school community.

It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

THE LOBBY MOSAICS.

My first year as an elementary art teacher my second graders were learning about ‘culture & communities’ in their Social Studies curriculum. Their amazing classroom teacher framed the study around a Baltimore Neighborhood, Little Italy. On their field study of the neighborhood, they encountered glittering mosaics at a church.

Back in the art studio, we named important parts of OUR school culture, transformed them into symbols, and created four large (and very heavy!) glass tile mosaics to hang in our lobby and communicate our values.

LOGO REDESIGN.

When I arrived in 2010, the logo was crudely simple and the font read ‘creepy’ as opposed to ‘academic community’.

I worked with the Executive Director, Director of Development and Exit 10, a design firm to re-imagine a new logo that matches our mission and vision.

Recently, in 2024, one of our Kindergarten students redrew the logo and it is used as an alternative option when appropriate.

flyers for families.
